Last weekend we celebrated Thanksgiving.
We had great weather. Feasting. Time to hang out with family and friends – to laugh and talk together.
We had the chance to give to those less fortunate than ourselves, to help feed the hungry, to share our wealth. Not all of us feel wealthy, most of the time. In fact, these days, when Canadians are often carrying more consumer debt than they like to think about, some of us can feel downright poor. This time of year though, in the time of harvest, it’s good to take time to “count our blessings” as they say. Making a real or mental list of all we have to be thankful for is a healthy spiritual exercise for all of us.
What have you got to be thankful for? Go ahead – make your list. Then take a moment to say “Thank you” to God. Thanksgiving Day may be past, but it’s not too late for gratitude.
Have you thanked God today?
