Just watched a re-run of that old Trix cereal ad. Poor rabbit loved the cereal, but in the end, he was sad, because, as the kids tell him, “Silly rabbit, Trix is for kids!”
We don’t want YOU to be sad this Easter!
You can celebrate with family, enjoy your favourite fairly-traded chocolate eggs, and have a wonderful weekend, and we sincerely hope you do.
Easter is about what Jesus did, for sure. But it’s not just for Jesus – it’s also for you.
Jesus came to die on the cross, as the perfect sacrifice for your sins and mine. He sets us free from selfishness and self-centredness, and provides the way for us to know the God who loves us. Jesus wants us to be just as gracious, loving and forgiving of each other as He is toward us.
It would be sad if all the focus were on bunnies, chocolate and feasting, as fine as those are, when something much bigger is behind the whole Christian celebration of Easter. Got some time Sunday morning? Why not drop by our worship service Sunday April 5 at 11 a.m., and hear more about all that Jesus did on Easter? Our theme is “Did Jesus Really Rise From the Dead?”.
Check it out. No Trix, just truth. Happy Easter!
